About
Our Approach to Health
Focus on the Whole Person
Empowerment and Personalization
Unlike conventional medicine, where treatment is often based on standardized protocols, alternative care tends to be more personalized. It considers a person's unique lifestyle, genetic makeup, emotional state, and other individual factors when developing a treatment plan.
Alternative therapies often encourage patients to take an active role in their healing process. Practices like diet adjustments, exercise, meditation, and stress management give individuals more control over their health, helping them feel empowered and engaged in their well-being.

Kelsey Harris
Registered Clinical Counsellor
Kelsey is a registered clinical counsellor with the BCACC. She graduated from Yorkville University with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology in 2021. She is passionate of mental health and wellness. Healing should be done in the mind as much as in the body. Wholeness is important because we cannot separate our minds from our bodies. Compassion for ourselves and others is an essential component of healing.
Kelsey brings a trauma-informed, holistic approach to counselling. Her areas of focus are chronic pain, chronic illness, trauma, anxiety, depression, life stress, life transitions, caregiver burnout, and perinatal issues. She integrates Somatic Experiencing, a body-mind therapy, with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which is cognitive behavioral. She also integrates mindful self-compassion and yoga therapy.
In addition to her Master degree from Yorkville University, Kelsey has taken additional training in Yoga Therapy through MY Vinyasa Practice and has her Yoga Teacher 200 hour certificate. Recently, Kelsey has also completed Somatic Experiencing Beginning I, II and III certificates.
